Google Docs adds OCR for PDFs and images

Google has silently introduced a new option on Google Docs, to convert PDF’s and images to Google Docs Documents using OCR or Optical Character Recognition technology, so that these documents can be edited and re-formated accordingly.

Google System, an unofficial Google Blog tested the accuracy of the conversion, and found that almost 10% of converted text was incorrect. This is not good of enough in comparision to premium OCR softwares, but still it is a good free option.
